RAFAEL COMPLETES SALE OF DAVID’S SLING TO FINLAND

The Director-General of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Eyal Zamir, signed the contract for the sale of the ‘David’s Sling’ air defense system to Finland for approximately 1.3 billion NIS (around 317 million euros).

Present at the signing ceremony at the Ministry of Defense were the Finnish Ambassador to Israel, H.E Dr. Nina Nordstorm, the Finnish military attaché Col. Oula Asteljoki, Rafael’s CEO, Major General Yoav Har-Even, Head of MAFAT, Brigadier General (Res.) Dr. Dani Gold, Head of ‘Homa’ Directorate, Moshe Patael, Head of the Finance Division at the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Dikla Cohen, and other senior officials.

The ‘David’s Sling’ is one of the world’s most advanced systems for intercepting ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, aircraft, and UAVs. The ‘David’s Sling’ system has demonstrated highly effective capabilities in combat across challenging scenarios.

The ‘David’s Sling’ system is jointly developed by the ‘Homa’ Directorate in the Ministry of Defense and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA), led by the main contractor – Rafael.
